FIVE MINUTES OR LESS TO TAKE ACTION

Call your senators and urge them to support a just and humane immigration reform bill.
The U.S. Senate will be considering comprehensive immigration reform legislation over the next two weeks.  We need to urge our senators to support legislation, which would:
o    Include a legalization program which is workable and supports family unity including a realistic and achievable path to citizenship;
o    Create a new worker program with worker protections, living wage
levels, and a path to citizenship; and
o    Preserve family reunification in our immigration system by reducing family backlogs and maintaining all family preference categories.
To take action, call/write: Senator Barbara Boxer at  (202) 224-3553
112 Hart Senate Office Building, Washington,  DC 20510
Senator Dianne Feinstein at   (202) 224-3841

LOS ANGELES MARATHON
SUNDAY  ~ MARCH 4, 2007

Please be aware that next Sunday, March 4th is the annual Los Angeles Marathon.  This year, the course will run down Vine/Rossmore, passing directly by the church which means that  travel to and from Christ the King church will be severely impacted.  Please consult the race course map carefully to plan your trip to Christ the King if you plan to attend Mass on Sunday, March 4th.  You will not be able to cross streets that are part of the race course.  The sections of Vine and Rossmore are not scheduled to re-open until at least 11am on that Sunday.  You may also want to consider attending the Vigil Mass on Saturday, March 3rd if it looks as if traveling to church on Sunday will be too difficult.  Please consult the map on the right which shows the portion of the course that is around the church.  For more information on the marathon please visit their web site at http://lamarathon.com or call 310-444-5544
