Southern California Congress of the Divine Mercy will be held in Christ the King Church  in the Parish Auditorium.

The theme of the Congress:
“DIVINE MERCY IS THE ANSWER TO THE TROUBLED WORLD”

His Excellency Professor Edward Ozorowski, Archbishop Metropolitan of Bialystok – City of Mercy, Poland, will preside our Congress. Archbishop Ozorowski is a very well known Theologian, Professor and Writer. He is the Author of 1500 books and publications. Archbishop Ozorowski is the first Bishop elected during the pontificate of God’s Servant John Paul II. In 2003 Archbishop Edward visited our Parish; he brought the message of mercy to us, which was published in his book “Dialogs on Divine Mercy”.

In the church of Christ The King there is a special chapel dedicated to the Divine Mercy.  The Image of Merciful Jesus has been blessed by the Holy Father John Paul II on April 30, 2003 during a special audience in the Vatican.  Holy Father John Paul II – The Great Pope of Mercy placed His signature on this Image.

Come! We invite you to the Divine Mercy Congress to affirm our faith in Jesus with our fellow Christians. As God’s Servant Pope John Paul II said to us: “Christ is calling you. The Church needs you and expects great things of you”.

Lenten Message

Saturday March 03rd 2007

Hello Parishoners,

Lent is upon us- St. Augustine consoles us: “Let us never assume that if we live good lives we will be without sin; our lives should be praised only when we continue to beg for pardon.” Father Peter John Cameron explains, “In other words, the biggest problem is how we respond to sin. No matter how dark the blackness of the blackmail of sin gets this Lent, let’s use all our energy to turn our whole being to the light…there’s only one window in the tomb” [Magnificat, Lent 2007].

Please be aware of the following important dates and information:

+ March 1-4, Religious Education Congress @ The Anaheim Convention Center [entitled, “Stand in the Light”].
